This journalistic piece focuses on refugees and religious institutions working together to ensure those seeking aid have a place to live, sleep and eat. Not many refugees can say they have a place to turn to when they are in need, which is why its important to share as much information as possible for them to use. I wanted to highlight the hardships many of these individuals go through, as well as what the local pastors and bishops providing assistance. Few people can claim the same privileges citizens of the United States of America have but providing them with resources capable of giving smidge of this will make their life easeier.

Thisstory is highlighting the lives of a group of refugees who have big dreams. They all attend the local community college in Salt Lake City, Utah; Salt Lake Community College. Many of them shared their daily struggles just to get to school while others shared their memories explaining how they arrived here. Every person's journey is different and filled with wonder, which is why I crafted this story.

This is an in-depth report about two refugees who attended the Salt Lake Community College campus in West Valley City, Utah. Both of the people I talked to shared with me their aspirations in life and what they've ventured into since moving to the United States of America. One of the refugees has been working since arriving as a teenager to pay-off his debts. The other is doing her best to support her family while simultaneously obtaining an education. These two individuals show readers anyone can obtain their dreams as long as they put their mind to it.

West Annual Education Conference Speaker
I was fortunate enough to be one of the speakers for a conference focusing on transfer students, their lives, and the value of changing educational institutions. I explained how I shared every resource these kinds of academics have at their disposal to prevent burn out and failing their curriculum. I introduced other transfer students to each other to prevent my mentees from becoming isolarted and lonely. I also described my experiences in finding unconventional methods helping my pursuit of academic excellence while working a physically laborious job. This conference allowed me to relive crucial moments in my life with people interested in this part of the journey. I was able to highlight situations not normally discussed when switching univerities, moving to a new state and exploring their respective city.
